Nicotine is addictive.

Every day, we work alongside researchers who study nicotine addiction and quitting – and help fuel This is Quitting, our text-to-quit vaping program. These are people with years of experience helping people stop smoking or vaping who offer really useful insights into the process. And you know what they say? Quitting nicotine, whether it’s in a cigarette or a JUUL or a Vuse or a Puff Bar, can be really damn tough, but it sucks a lot less if you have the right tools and support. It gets easier as you keep going, so if you’re struggling, you’re not alone or quitting “wrong.”

If you’re hesitant to take the first step toward quitting — you’re not alone. Many quitters feel held back by the fear of social anxiety, failure, and inability to cope with stress without vaping. But you don’t have to take that first step without support.

It’s basically why This is Quitting exists: We’re bringing together more than 600,000 members to help each other and share ideas, recommendations, tips, advice, and encouragement for your quit. It’s designed to help you get started, or keep going, and navigate cravings, stress, and slips with just a quick text.

Because it’s text-based, you can use it 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. And it’s confidential--you don’t need to worry about us going to your parents or school or health department with updates on your quitting progress.

More than 2/3 of This is Quitting users are able to cut back or quit entirely within two weeks. The program was partially developed using things we learned from BecomeAnEX, a program for quitting cigarette smoking that was co-developed with the Mayo Clinic that’s helped more than 900,000 people. 

To get started, text DITCHVAPE to 88709. That’s it. It’s that easy. You’ll get a chance to set your quit date, and if you’re not quite ready to do that yet, it’s fine. You can still sign up and we’ll send you tips and suggestions for getting ready to set a date. Our experts and the nearly 600,000 other users will be there for you – anonymously – the whole time.
