Taking action for tobacco and vape-free communities is no small feat, but there are a lot of us in this together! Read on below to see just a glimpse of how our activists have made real change on the issues that matter most to our generation. We hope they inspire you to get involved yourself!

Engaging with NAAG
Engaging with NAAG
In April 2025, attendees at the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) Tobacco Policy and Responsible Retailing Conference heard from truth Trainer Kacey King and content creator McCall Mirabella about the importance of reducing youth access to illegal and flavored tobacco products. This audience is key to reaching Attorney's General across the country and urging them to continue their work to protect communities in their states. Great work, Kacey and McCall!

2025 Ambassador Retreat
2025 Ambassador Retreat
In April 2025, our truth Ambassadors traveled to Illinois for a jam-packed few days of learning about best practices for student organizing and meeting with decision makers, as well as learning how to build community with one another. The team also promoted EX Program on the University of Illinois Champagne-Urbana campus, and then wrapped up in Chicago for meetings with the offices of U.S. Senator Dick Durbin and Illinois Attorney General Raoul. In the meetings, our Ambassadors asked decision makers to keep up the good work of keeping our communities free from tobacco, and to continue their efforts to remove illegal tobacco products from the market.
Ambassadors Recruiting Storytellers
Ambassadors Recruiting Storytellers
Our truth Ambassadors are continuously recruiting their peers to share their own stories of activism and how tobacco has impacted their communities. Personal stories and lived experiences are some of the most powerful tools we have in making change and reaching decision makers.

Moment of Action 2024: #MentholNotCool
Moment of Action 2024: #MentholNotCool
In Spring 2024, truth activists met with the White House Office of Domestic Policy about the proposed rule to end the sale of menthol cigarettes. While the rule has not been finalized, this was an important moment for those in power to hear directly from young people about the negative impacts that menthol and its marketing has had on communities nationwide.
We also filmed a series of intergenerational conversations about menthol's impact, titled "The Unfiltered Truth." Long standing advocates Dr. Mignonne Guy and Reverend Horace Sheffield joined some of the next generation of activists - Bryce Kahari and Jordan Watkins - to speak candidly about the health equity impacts of menthol and the good that its removal would do for Black, Brown, LGBTQ+, and other communities.

Moment of Action 2023: Follow the Flavors
Moment of Action 2023: Follow the Flavors
With most youth e-cigarette users preferring flavored products, we focused our 2023 Moment of Action on the youth appealing flavors that exist on the market. We drove a "candy" truck all around DC, handing out sweet treats while educating young people just how misleading and enticing flavored tobacco products can be. Our activists then met with decision makers on Capitol Hill, including U.S. Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine, to discuss the impact of flavored products on their generation's health and wellbeing.
