By applying for the truth Change Maker Awards (the “awards”), you agree to abide by the terms and conditions set forth below, and any failure to do so may result in disqualification from consideration.  All decisions of Truth Initiative regarding awarding the Change Maker Awards are final and binding in all respects. 

1. ELIGIBILITY: Individuals age 13-25 who reside in the United States are eligible to apply for a truth Change Maker award. However, employees of Truth Initiative and their immediate family members (spouse, domestic partner, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each such employee are not eligible to apply.    
2. APPLICATION PERIOD:  Award reviews occur on a monthly basis until Truth Initiative, in its sole discretion, announces the discontinuation of the award program.  Applications may be submitted commencing at Midnight EDT February 15th, 2023 and must be submitted no later than 11:59 PM EDT, on the 5th of each month to be considered for the previous month’s award/s.  
3. APPLYING FOR THE Awards:  Truth Initiative will be awarding  Change Maker Awards in amounts ranging from $100 - $500 throughout 2023. The Change Maker Awards will be granted on a competitive basis based on the totality of their application submissions. Applicants will be evaluated on criteria of connection to the truth Activism Agenda topics, peer reach, creativity, and application completion. The number of the awards and the value of each award will depend on the quality of the entries received and the impact demonstrated by the applicant.  Individuals may submit award applications for work undertaken at any time the individual met the eligibility requirements and so long as the individual still meets the eligibility requirements.  For example, a 24 year-old may submit an application for work she did when she was 20, but she could not submit an application for the same work once she reaches the age of 26.  Truth Initiative reserves the right not to make an award in a month if the applications, in its sole discretion, do not warrant an award.  Truth Initiative also reserves the right to make an award to individuals for submissions made in prior months.  Each awarded truth Change Maker award will be paid to the selected winner via ACH or check. The truth Change Maker Award winners will be selected in the sole discretion of Truth Initiative, based on the quality of their written application, and contributions to their community. Individuals may apply for the Awards at the following website: https://www.thetruth.com/take-action/truth-impact-awards:  Applications and/or other submitted materials that are lost, late, incorrect, garbled or incompletely received, for any reason, including without limitation by hardware, software, browser or network failure, malfunction, congestion or incompatibility will not be eligible, and Truth Initiative assumes no responsibility for such applications.  
4. THE CHANGE MAKER AWARDS:  Winners will be selected by a panel of application reviewers determined by Truth Initiative in its sole discretion.  All winners will be notified in writing by Truth Initiative.  Applicants are responsible for responding promptly to Truth Initiative’s efforts to contact them.  Selected applicants are responsible for providing all necessary information needed in order to process and award the truth Change Maker awards. If it is determined that a selected applicant is ineligible for an award for any reason, or if a selected applicant does not accept the award despite several reasonable attempts by Truth Initiative to contact them, then Truth Initiative reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to select another applicant to receive the award or not to award.  Selected applicants must verify their eligibility.  
5. GENERAL CONDITIONS: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the award application process is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, Truth Initiative may, in its sole discretion may suspend or discontinue the truth Change Maker Award Program.  Truth Initiative reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the application process or the operation of the truth Change Maker Award Program or to be acting in a disruptive manner.  Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the truth Change Maker Award Program may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and Truth Initiative reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.  The failure by Truth Initiative to enforce any of its lawful shall not constitute a waiver of such rights.    
6. PUBLICITY:  By applying for the truth Change Maker award, you grant to Truth Initiative full permission and rights to use, in its sole discretion, your name, image and likeness, as well as any video submission or parts thereof and such other information about yourself as you may provide to Truth Initiative, in connection with any publicity about the award program in the event that you are an award winner. In addition, you waive the right to review and approve any and all such publicity.   If you are a minor, a parent or guardian must agree to grant Truth Initiative these publicity rights as a condition of receiving the award.  
7. PRIVACY:  By applying for the truth Change Maker Award, you agree to receive periodic emails and text messages from Truth Initiative.  Of course, you may notify Truth Initiative that you do not wish to receive further communications at any time.  For text messages, you may indicate that you do not wish to receive future messages from an organization by replying “STOP” to any such messages.  Further information about Truth Initiative’s privacy practices can be found here:  https://www.thetruth.com/privacy-terms.  
8. RESULTS: A list of the award winners will be available here thetruth.com/impactawards from December 30th, 2023 to January 30th, 2024.
