Take Back the Shelves

Make art to demand that pharmacies remove tobacco from shelves.

We have a problem

Okay, if we’re being honest, we have a lot of problems. Like, 53,566 of them. Because that’s how many pharmacies in the U.S. are selling tobacco products.  Which is weird to us. Tobacco is the number one cause of preventable death in the U.S., killing more than 1,300 people each day. Pharmacies are … they’re like the OG health stores, right?

But there’s a solution

Tobacco companies attract consumers, including young consumers, by displaying their products at point-of-sale, aka behind checkout counters on eye-level shelves. We helped #TakeBackTheShelves by asking pharmacies to remove tobacco products from behind the checkout counters with eye-level shelving in their stores.
