Chuggin' On Clouds
BUT HONESTLY, IT’S NOT THAT DIFFICULT TO FIND THINGS THAT ARE SAFER FOR YOU THAN SMOKING.
Smoking is still the leading cause of death in the US, killing more Americans each year than AIDS, alcohol, car accidents, murders, suicides, drugs, and fires combined. So, yeah… a lot of things are safer than smoking.
AND “SAFER THAN SMOKING” DOESN’T MAKE IT SAFE. ONE JUUL POD CONTAINS 20 CIGARETTES WORTH OF NICOTINE.*
Nicotine addiction can harm the developing brain in young people, and can cause attention and mood disorders. And since nicotine is highly addictive, the fact that JUUL pods contain a 5% concentrate is pretty concerning.
Plus, good, solid research can take decades to compile, and we just aren’t there yet with e-cigs, vapes, and JUUL. We don’t know yet the impact these products could have on our health. But what we know so far definitely gives us pause.
VAPING CAN WEAKEN YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM, CAN DAMAGE BLOOD VESSELS, AND MAKES YOU SIGNIFICANTLY MORE LIKELY TO START SMOKING CIGARETTES.
And, like JUUL, most e-cigs and vaping products contain nicotine. You’re also 4x more likely to start smoking cigarettes if you vape.
Which we know from like, 8 sentences ago is terrible for your health.
SO, WHERE DOES THIS LEAVE US?
Vaping might be safer than smoking, but that doesn’t make it safe. So if you’re a regular smoker, vaping might be a *safer* switch… but if you don’t already smoke cigarettes, you shouldn't JUUL or start vaping. Make sense?
